Fairview South programming is designed to meet the unique needs of secondary age students with significant intellectual disabilities, students who are medically fragile and students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Students may also need support in the areas of nursing, personal cares, communication, behavior, vision, hearing, physical and motor skills. Students benefit from a full time Nursing Services, respiratory care, after seizure care, as well as Occupational, Physical, Speech, Music and Art Therapists. Classroom staff are trained in personal cares, ranging from g-tube feeding/pumps, medication administration, toileting/incontinence care, seizure care, to positioning/skin integrity.  Teaching staff is highly skilled in building on each student's individual abilities and strengths, and designing standards based curriculum to encourage participation in academic and functional skills.

Students from Southeast Wisconsin counties including Waukesha, Milwaukee, Racine, Washington, Jefferson and Ozaukee have been educated at Fairview South School since 1971.
